Ugh…And, Double Ugh…

It is nearly 4:30am, and I am exhausted and hungry.  Being as preggers as I am, I like to grab a bowl of cereal or a nice extra-peanut buttery sandwich right about now.

However, first thing this morning I get to particapate in a 3 hour glucose test.  For those of you that have had to do this, thank you for your support and encouragement.  For those of you that have absolutely no idea what I’m taking about, this screening test is hell.

For me the one hour test is nearly unbearable, chugging down the over sugared syrupy sludge and keeping it down.  I’ve had to do this test before, but the experience proved to not be totally unbearable, as the lab I had the work done at was prepared to accomodate hungry, cranky pregnant women, and had a gurney availible for those of us made especially light-headed and pukey.

This morning, will not be so accomodating.  When I inquired about a quiet place to relax, I was basically told I could wait in any of the waiting rooms I wanted, or relax in the courtyard.  Okay, fair enough, but is the lab gonna send a corpsman out to find me and carry me back to the lab every hour to draw my blood, or should I make it easy on everyone and just lie in the hallway?

Did I mention that I was also really hungry right now?!!?  I am wondering if a plain cup of nearly decaffinated tea would be okay, at least to stave off the nausea.

I am also concerned about the test results and how I may have to change my daily life.  For instance, I am a sucker for ice pops, you know the ones that are just basically flavored water that you can pick up at Wally World for like $1 for 100.  And, what about all the Easter candy I have managed to not have gorged on yet?
